What’s draining you and how you can get your energy back

Have you ever noticed how the pile of papers on your desk really annoys you and you can never find what you’re looking for?

You’ve said yes when you really wanted to say no and now you’re frustrated with yourself.

The people that suck your life blood from you. All they have is their negativity, demands and only ever talking about themselves.

Believe it or not, these and many more energy sapping events, situations and scenarios are stopping you from moving forward. They’re all taking up too much of your energy.

Trust me. Every time you look at the pile of papers you tense up and wish you had the time to tidy them away.

The word ‘yes’ has only just past your lips and already you’re angry, stressed, annoyed, working out ways to get out of it, furious with yourself for giving in or backing down……

Spending time with those that drain the life out of you with their negativity, complaining  or taking from you without giving back.  They never ask how you are.

Once you block these drains you will have more energy.

Ever had an unresolved situation hanging over you for a while? And as soon as it’s resolved you feel as if a weight has been lifted from you.

I can guarantee there will be other things going on that are draining you. Some you’re aware of some you’re not but they are there.

Sapping your energy and playing on your mind.

You’re not free of them at all. Your mind is always juggling them around and this tires you out.

Interested in how you can get free of them and get back your energy?

First of all, recognise where your drains are coming from.

Your drains can come from any of the following areas but the list isn’t definitive:

  • Relationships
  • Work / Environment
  • Money
  • Body and Mind

Relationships

You may have people in your life that continuously drain your energy. With their demands, their attitudes and value that clash with yours.

They may be self-centred and constantly talk about themselves and never ask how you are or can they help you.  It’s always about them.

Maybe there’s a relationship you need to end but doing so feels stressful.

Are you a ‘Yes’ person and struggle to say ‘No’?

Work / Environment

Being disorganised can be a huge drain on you.

Working at a desk that’s untidy, you can’t find what you’re looking for or you don’t have the equipment you need to do the job.

Maybe you need to delegate but you prefer to have the control.

Money

This can be a drain for many when your business isn’t where you want it to be and by avoiding the conversation about money you’re actually putting yourself under quite a bit of pressure.

Body and Mind

How well are you looking after yourself?

Burning the candle at both ends and not eating the right food. You want to exercise but finding the time is a bit of a struggle for you.

We all know where we could make improvements and have less of what drains us but it’s the knowing where to start that can be a toughie.

Start by noticing what is draining you and where your energy is being sucked from you.

Then make a list of 10 things you can do to put this right.

And to complete your list you’re only going to need to do one of three things.

Do it yourself.

Outsource it by giving it to someone else.

Ditch it.
